For her Rooms With A View show house vignette, Ridgefield-based interior designer, Peyton Cochran, imagined a lively game night among friends—right down to the custom mahjong table. One of her passers-by was Sandi Wright, an entrepreneur and social impact advisor who plays mahjong and was taken away by the table’s unique design and functionality. Equally impressive was that it was produced 8 miles away in nearby Bridgeport. She immediately bought one. And she wasn’t alone.
Peyton’s design sparked such interest that she decided to pursue producing a line of custom tables. Peyton and Sandi started to brainstorm together and “BAM“ the rest is history Center & Spring was born.
Center & Spring is excited to build a fun and functional line of game-inspired tables and accessories centered around the duo's mission to bring women across generations together to build community and have conversations, as well as some friendly competition.
Center & Spring is women-owned, built locally in CT, and has a social impact — a portion of the proceeds of every table will be donated to an organization that focuses on empowering women and girls!
In feng shui, the octagon protects one's being and is a shape that draws in good fortune and positive energy from all (eight) directions. In this way, the octagon has been used and revered by people as a special shape representing good fortune and eternity.
Peyton wanted to table to encompass this feeling and wants everyone who sits around these tables together to benefit from positive energy and have good fortune - during their games and beyond!
